(Warning: this post contains potential spoilers.)
David Tennant has been the most popular Doctor Who star since Tom Baker back in the '70s, and fans are still grieving the news that Tennant will soon be replaced by young Kevin Pereira lookalike Matt Smith. But new rumors suggest that while Tennant has already filmed his Doctor Who death scene, he isn't quite done with the Doctor yet. (Click the image at left to buy the complete fourth series of Doctor Who on DVD.)
The Planet Gallifrey blog reports that Tennant has been spotted on the Penarth set of the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, and there's some question of whether he's gone back for re-shoots of his final Who outing or whether his Doctor will appear in a Sarah Jane episode. (Remember that the Doctor is a time traveller, so even if he's just died in our world, the Doctor from six months ago could appear on Earth tomorrow.)
The site also reports that following the death of Tennant's Doctor, Rose Tyler will make a cameo - along with her half-human version of Tennant's Doctor, who will somehow sense the death of his other self. If so, outgoing showrunner Russell T. Davies will have accomplished two very tricky feats: he's already managed to let Rose and the Doctor stay together while also keeping them apart so the Doctor can still have solo adventures, and now he'll kill Tennant's Doctor while also keeping him alive on Earth to grow old with Rose (and possibly appear in further adventures.) Admit it: you're gonna miss Davies. The man lavishes viewers with "fan service" so deluxe, he practically leaves a mint on your pillow.
