Talking with BBC Radio 5, director Guillermo del Toro revealed that Hugo Weaving (who played Elrond in the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies) will return alongside Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen for the Hobbit movies. He also explained how he plans to expand the one Hobbit novel into two films.
There is a whole other chapter, so to speak, which is the comings and going of Gandalf which are dealt with, people that know the lore know that Gandalf was delayed with a crisis… with a character that is very shady called the Necromancer that proves to be Sauron.
Unfortunately, Del Toro said a third Hellboy picture is unlikely because Ron Perlman doesn't want to wear the prosthetics. Honestly? That sounds like a fib. Perlman's been very gung-ho about the film in every interview I've seen, always saying it was up to Del Toro to find an opening in his busy schedule to get the movie made. (Click the image at left to buy Hellboy II on DVD.)
Finally, Del Toro confirms that another Blade movie is highly unlikely, saying that Wesley Snipes and New Line aren't on "legal speaking terms."
