I'm saddened to report that the Doctor Who movie starring David Tennant and written and produced by outgoing show runner Russell T. Davies isn't going to happen after all. Davies himself debunked the rumors in an interview with UGO.com.
"No, sadly it's the internet running out of control," Davies says. "It ran so out of control that my agent's assistant thought that I was writing a film and put it on the website and I was like, trust me I've got plenty of other work to do! But I think it will happen one day, just because people keep talking about it, and the fact that they keep talking about it means there must some interest, somewhere. So not right now, but I think it could exist because back in the nineteen sixties, they made two films that were spin-offs from the television series and they're still repeated on British television to this day. I think one day, the public good will will simply summon a film into existence!"
